TECH POWER PLAYERS 50 | RANKED #15

Cofounder and CEO, ezCater

BIOGRAPHY

Why a Tech Power Player? For leadership in hospitality-focused technology and workplace culture.

Big companies have lots of employees to feed; restaurants want to feed them. Stefania Mallett, cofounder and CEO of ezCater, developed the software platform to connect businesses — such as FedEx Ground, Puma, and the San Francisco 49ers — that want a caterer for their employee events with more than 100,000 restaurants nationwide ready to supply the grub. When the pandemic put a dent in corporate catering, Mallett and ezCater pivoted to hospitals, factories, and other essential workplaces. Later, the company began offering comprehensive food solutions for organizations navigating hybrid work environments. In 2021, the company locked in a valuation of $1.6 billion after raising an additional $100 million of funding. Mallett holds bachelor and master of science degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT.
