BIOGRAPHY

Why a Tech Power Player? For advancing research on empathetic leadership strategies and more welcoming workplaces.

Frances Frei is a Harvard Business School professor who, with Anne Morriss, founded The Leadership Consortium. The consortium offers programs, one-to-one coaching, and advisory services to give leaders at companies such as HubSpot, Google, and Walmart the tools to build better strategy, operations, and culture. Frei’s research focuses on how executives can create the conditions for employees to succeed, and she gave a 2018 TED Talk about her time guiding culture at Uber, “How to build (and rebuild) trust.” The talk has been viewed more than 5 million times. At Harvard Business School, Frei teaches courses on workplace differences and operations management. She has also co-written two books with Morriss — with a third on the way. The pair recently launched the podcast “Fixable,” about navigating workplace challenges.
